Trident XL ZDO Zero-Discharge Batch Aqueous Cleaning & Defluxing System
The Trident XL ZDO is our newest and most environmentally responsible line of batch aqueous cleaners and defluxers, delivering fully automated washing, rinsing, and drying of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assemblies with true zero-discharge operation. Featuring an extra-large cleaning chamber designed to accommodate larger assemblies and support higher throughput volumes, the system quickly, safely, and effectively removes all flux types and residues from SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assemblies. During the wash cycle, an asymmetrical fan-jet spray system precisely diffuses cleaning solution to soften contaminants, while uniquely designed fan-jet nozzles and an oscillating board rack ensure complete coverage—even on densely populated, low-standoff SMT assemblies. The rinse cycle provides identical spray coverage to thoroughly remove wash solution and contaminants from the most difficult-to-clean areas, and throughput can be further increased by adding a second upper board rack to double chamber capacity or an additional chamber to quadruple overall cleaning potential. The process is completed with efficient forced hot-air convection drying, delivering consistently clean, dry assemblies ready for downstream operations.
Intelligent Chemical Management & Real-Time Monitoring
Trident’s automated chemical management system eliminates manual measuring, mixing, and handling of defluxing chemicals by precisely dosing and blending solutions automatically, ensuring consistent cleaning performance while reducing chemical waste and operator intervention. Operators can monitor estimated cycle completion time, cleanliness values, and operating temperatures in real time through an intuitive display, while built-in gauges provide instant status of water line, spray manifold, and pre-drain filter pressures. The system also features fluid level gauges and low-level alarms on both the wash solution tank and the stainless steel concentrated wash solution holding tank to prevent process interruptions. To simplify maintenance, Trident’s reminder software tracks usage counts for critical components and automatically alerts operators when service is required, with counters turning red once administrator-defined cycle limits are reached to support proactive maintenance and optimal system performance.
Advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) for Traceability & Tracking
Trident XL ZDO’s Statistical Process Control (SPC) data recording delivers complete process traceability by automatically capturing cleaning program names, cycle times, temperatures, and both set and actual cleanliness levels, along with other critical performance metrics. This comprehensive data collection ensures consistent cleaning results, supports compliance requirements, and strengthens quality assurance across every batch. SPC data can be viewed in real time on the system display, printed to a networked printer, or securely exported via USB or network connection for seamless integration with quality management and reporting systems.
