    Our “Sherlock” line of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems provides powerful, high-precision defect detection for both pre- and post-reflow PCB inspection. Designed to enhance production quality and streamline processes, Sherlock systems identify a wide range of issues including missing or misaligned components, incorrect polarity, foreign objects, tombstoning, billboard parts, and inversions. They also perform detailed solder inspections—detecting excess, insufficient, and unsoldered joints, bridges, and solder balls—as well as optical character recognition (OCR) errors. Available in various models to accommodate different PCB sizes, Sherlock AOI systems deliver reliable 2D inspection across every stage of your SMT line.

    Each of our Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems comes with the easy-to-use Sherlock PCB inspection software featuring a touch-screen interface, “Navigation Mode” to step the operator through the process, and both a rich component library and CAD import capability.
