Going well beyond standard PCB coating, the ProtectoXC allows for precise, component-specific protection using methods such as Globe Top, Dam & Fill, and Flip Chip Underfill. Reliable, Low-Maintenance Cleaning Process

The Rehm ProtectoXC system sets new standards for cleaning and maintenance with its innovative, maintenance-friendly cleaning tank design. A built-in brush station combined with a solvent bath ensures thorough and precision cleaning of material nozzles. Even after several days of system inactivity—depending on the coating material used—the machine can be brought back into operation at the push of a button, without requiring additional manual cleaning.

This intelligent cleaning tank protects critical components such as nozzles, cables, connections and ports from drying out. It also performs automated cleaning during system downtime, minimizing solvent waste while maintaining peak operational readiness. With easy access to all control elements and material reservoirs, the system allows extended production runs and long downtimes without the need to flush or disassemble valves, significantly reducing maintenance demands and maximizing uptime.

Advanced Options for Precision Coating & Dispensing

Rehm ProtectoXC systems offer a comprehensive range of configurable options to ensure superior accuracy, reliability, and process control. Optional heated nozzles maintain consistent material viscosity regardless of ambient conditions, while heavy-duty transport systems provide stable handling for complex assemblies. Additional features include MES connectivity with traceability and bad board mark detection, internal black light illumination for UV inspection, ECAD import for program automation, and material pump integration for direct use of the manufacturer's original containers.

For enhanced quality assurance, ProtectoXC systems can be equipped with a fiducial camera to auto-correct alignment even if boards are misloaded, and a barcode scanner to confirm the correct coating program is active. A high-precision weighing cell is also available to monitor material dispensing in real time, comparing each application to preset target values for immediate error detection. Together, these intelligent options allow the ProtectoXC platform to meet the most demanding coating and dispensing requirements with confidence and efficiency.
