High-Speed, High-Efficiency Design
The four pick-and-place heads mounted on the MCLEDV4's high precision, linear motor gantry perform simultaneous pick-up to achieve rates of 15,000 LEDs per hour (per IPC-9850 standard). True on-the-fly vision alignment with an upward-looking camera aligns components while the head is in motion. This design saves time over fixed-camera systems (where components are brought over the camera for alignment before it can move to the placement area).
Thanks to the included software, feeder locations are also optimized to minimize head travel and tool changes prior to placement.
Specifically Designed for LED Assembly
Each of the MCLEDV4's placement heads features positive air pressure to release 'sticky' LED components. Non-stick, Teflon®-coated nozzles—including custom nozzle designs—are also available. Domed LEDs can be safely placed using nozzles designed to not touch the optical lens during pick-up, protecting the component's overall performance and reliability. This machine also includes:

The MCLEDV4 comes standard with a worktable and magnetic board fixture or can be configured at time of purchase with a SMEMA-compatible inline conveyor for line automation.
Models for All Kinds of LED Lighting Assembly
Flexible PCB strips, circular LED light bulb boards, and even irregularly shaped boards can be assembled quickly, accurately, and reliably on the MCLEDV4. With all MCLED-series models, the full length of the board is assembled in a single pass for top efficiency and throughput.
- The MCLEDV4 can come in optional 1200- and 1500-mm max board size lengths.
- Our MCLEDV6 model offers the same board size options as the MCLEDV4, but also has 6-heads and double the placement speed.
- To assemble the longest board sizes, the MCLEDV4-1800 has the same CPH and 4 heads, but can accommodate boards up to 1800 mm.
Software for Simplifying Production
Several powerful software tools are included with the MCLEDV4 system, including the UCAD® universal CAD import/conversion utility to simplify placement programming, a feeder arrangement optimizer to minimize head travel and tool changes, and real-time monitoring of production that gives the operator at-a-glance information. Easily monitor production with a virtual view of products under assembly, along with placement rate, placement time, and production count.
Companies that already have one or more MC-series machines in their facility will find the MCLEDV4's software interface immediately familiar, which means zero learning curve when it comes to programming and operating.
The MCLEDV4 offers nonstop production. Its ability to automatically switch to a different feeder when an in-use one runs out of components allows operators to refill empty feeders without taking production offline. Up to 16 special, servo-driven feeders can be used with the MCLEDV4. Brushless motors promote a longer feeder life under around-the-clock production conditions. With these feeders, it is also possible to splice a new reel onto an old one for minimizing production interruption.
